Hey NYCThirst Community,
Last week I kicked off my latest adventure in Prospect Heights—and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
It started strong on Friday with stops at
Bearded Lady, and
Finn’s Corner, two neighborhood staples with very different but equally charming vibes. Then Tuesday rolled in, and so did I—though a little later than planned (we all have those days). First up:
BierWax, where Isaac Hayes filled the room and 5,000+ vinyl records lined the wall behind the bar. It’s run by owners Chris Maestro and Yahaira Gil Maestro, and stepping inside is like crashing your coolest friend's living room—if that friend also had a shiny onyx bar and a flawless taste in music.
Next stop?
Bilt Bar. It’s the spiritual successor to Woodwork, a former soccer bar that kept the same sporty charm and a long, glorious bar you can actually breathe at. Trivia host (and friend of the site)
J.R. Griffith was in the building early, so I stayed for a round. Spring flowers stumped me, but hey, I showed up.
